Chalobah Expected to Step in for Guehi in Three Lions Squad

Trevoh Chalobah emulated his sibling Nathaniel in representing England, becoming the 21st pair of brothers to play for the England side.

Trevoh Chalobah is likely to be added to the England squad to cover for injured Crystal Palace centre-back Marc Guehi.

The 26-year-old is scheduled to meet up with the national side for England's last World Cup qualifiers against Serbia and Albania, but it has yet to be officially announced.

The England team have already secured qualification for next summer's competition.

Chalobah was given his maiden call-up under England manager Thomas Tuchel in May and then played his first game against the Senegalese team.

In September, Tuchel stated Chalobah was unlucky to be excluded from the squad for qualifying games against Andorra and Serbia, and also omitted him for the next October matches.

Tuchel has been an significant figure in Chalobah's progress, having awarded him his Chelsea debut in the year 2021.

Chalobah has appeared in almost every games for Chelsea in the current campaign, with the team third in the Premier League, in the EFL Cup last eight and in the group stage of the Champions League.

Guehi sustained a foot problem in Crystal Palace's Europa Conference League victory over the Dutch side recently.

There are set to be other additions to the selection. Newcastle manager Eddie Howe has confirmed that both winger Anthony Gordon (hip) and shot-stopper Nick Pope (a concussion) will withdraw from the national team.
