Our Fault Review – Highly Polished Spain-Based Step-Sibling Melodrama Is Too Bland to Be Annoying
This third installment in a popular series, following previous entries titled My Fault and Your Fault, has been brought to screen from the Culpable trilogy. Aimed at its core fanbase, it delivers a familiar combination of melodramatic flair, love-centered plots, and luxurious settings. However, despite these goals, the dialogue feels stilted and overused, particularly in the English subtitles.
Story Summary
First-time watchers may find themselves confused by the narrative, as the final chapter assumes prior knowledge with earlier events. Nevertheless, the main relationship involving the lead characters remains clear: former lovers who once shared a family tie when their families united in their adult years. Against the backdrop of a sun-drenched beach ceremony, the pair meet again, spar, and finally separate—before come together by the ending.
Meanwhile, Noah explores a romantic link with a kind-hearted man, while Nick handles his professional life in formal attire. Introducing conflict, a villainous character named the foe—bearing a resemblance to Nick—attempts to sabotage the couple's happiness.
Visuals and Tone
Filmed in stunning coastal Spain and the UK capital, the film showcases a sleek, travel-brochure look. Significant focus is devoted to outfits, ceremony planning, and beautiful views. A steady musical score of electronic pop songs in multiple languages fills quiet moments, but the overall effect is rather dull than captivating.
In the end, the film is too mild to upset or even annoy—making it inoffensive yet forgettable.
